.40's are the only Kahrs I ever hear of malfunctioning. I only have around 500 to 600 rounds through my pm9 but not 1 prob. I always stick with brass cased ammo.

I had a PM9 that had a problem with light primer strikes. They replaced the slide and barrel. Basically got a new gun back which worked perfect. Later I screwed the recoil spring up on a reassembly which was my fault. They sent me out a whole new assembly free of charge. Customer service for me has been great. Zero complaints.

I just purchased a MK40 Elite and I am very disappointed in the GUN and KAHR Service. I have previously owned three Glocks and I have never had a problem with them.

When I went to the range the first time, I fired 200 rounds to break in the gun, and three to four times, the slide stayed back, like the magazine was empty, but it was not. I pulled back on the slide and released it and the rest of the magazine fired fine.

I assumed this was just part of the breakin, but I went to the range yesterday, fired 100 rounds and the same thing happened two or three times.

I am using American Eagle ammunition, and I used the same ammunition on a Glock 23 and the Glock fired 100 out of 100 with no failures, on the samr range trip.

I purchased this gun for Self Defense, and it is not useful If I cannot depend on it.

I called Kahr Service, and they were not helpful at all, they said if it is is working 97% of the time, it is not the guns fault. How can that be! If I am using it for self defense it must work 100% of the time like my Glocks.
Kahr service refuses to do anything. I am suprised becasue I thought Kahr was a quality product, but obiously it is not and Kahr does not stand behind their guns.

Does anyone know what can cause this. I thought it might be due to a defective recoil spring but the Kahr Tech refused to do anyting, because it was working 97% of the time and he thought that was ok and not the recoil spring. I need a gun that I can count on, works 100% of the time if I am going to use it for self defense.

    Kahr refused to do anyting!
Every time I see Glock mentioned in a post I know what is coming next.............

Not sure what your point is about Glock. I have put 12,000 rounds thru my three Glocks, and have never had a malfunction. I buy a new Kahr, and I cannot get even 100 rounds thru without three malfunctions. That was the facts.

When I first called Kahr, they said it was my problem and I did not know how to shoot a gun.

After testing left handed, to make sure I was not accidentally hitting the slide lock, and my son having the same problem, I called them back and they now tell me I have a defective slide lock and sent me a new one.

Last week, I shot 100 rounds with the new slide lock, and had no malfunctions. This is promising. I expect to shoot another 100-150 rounds today, and if it continues to work without a malfunction I will be happy. I really like the Kahr, for the purpose I bought it, but I expect a gun I buy to operate 100% of the time so I can depend on it. I am hopeful that with the new slide lock, the Kahr will meet that expectation, and I can have the same confidence in the Kahr, that I have in my Glocks.

My experience with Kahr customer service has been outstanding. Sounds like you probably took an attitude with them. Must have told them how great your Glocks were. I'm sure that would really impress them. Hope the Kahr now meets your expectations and you are pleased. It just might knock Glock off that pedestal.

Did not mention that I owned Glocks when I talked to Kahr, why would I. You seem to have the issue with Glocks.

My fist experience with Kahr service was not good. The person I talked to said it was my problem because it was only happening 97% of the time. He did not share my expectation that my Kahr should perform 100% of the time.

I had a much better experience the second time. The customer service person said it looked like a bad slide lock and sent me a new one. This does seem to fix the problem as I no have shot 250 rounds with no issues.

Unfortunately, I have another problem that I am waiting for Kahr customer service to acknowledge. Every time a shoot, I crack a follower on a magazine. I do not see how I am doing this, so it must be another defect in the gun.

I really like the Kahr, but so far I have two defects from the factory. Kahr has resloved one, and hopefully they will agree to solve the other.

I have about 150 rounds through my PM40 and the Mag spring or somethings is sticking through the plastic that hold the bullet. Now the Mag jams and will not advance the new bullet. I can not find anywhere to buy another Magazine. IS this common?

Kahr has acknowledge my issue with the cracked followers and said it is a defect in the gun and I need to send it in. They did provide a prepaid FedEx label and told me to send in my magazines with the cracked followers also. Hopefully they will fix it and I can enjoy my MK40 too!
