Took her out of her sock and took her out today.
Had never fired it using the sights, I took the mount and scope off and put it on another rifle.
I also tried a rifle load, they had some thump... the sights were dead on!!!

Really want to take her out hunting... but I don't really like taking her outside. She was unfired when I got her, but she didn't make it home that way...

You know I had wanted a 243 forever, I thought I could get me one by telling the wife it was for her.

The sil and I was heading out to the river, the wife hollers "you ain't taking my rifle!!!"

"The sil and I was heading out to the river, the wife hollers "you ain't taking my rifle!!!". Right then you should have set her straight! Then when you woke up you could hobble on to the river.

This confirms my thought of having a woman that DOESN'T like or shoot guns. If for no other reason than keeping holes from entering my body.

Rat,
I just enlarged the picture and looked at your rifle. It does look nice. What do you plan on using it for or did you just want it? Lever action is cool. Like I said before don't know much about rifles. 44 mag...is this a common cal.?

Cowboy gun mostly just for fun, and cause I wanted something to go along with my 44mag ruger blackhawk pistol.

Yeah it is the prettiest rifle I own, it is still like new!!!

Its a pistil caliber carbine. A model 1894.
Its got a big hole in the barrel but It is still a pistol round.
Really the 30-30 is a better deer rifle.

I've got this one and went to sight it in years ago when I first bought it and couldn't miss. Didn't change a thing and haven't shot it since. It's just nice to have. DSC_0046.jpg

So it was made in 1894? or model 1894? That would appear to be a big slug with not much powder. What was it used for do you know? I would seem to be under powered for a rifle. Man hunter maybe?
