About to buy.....Now has....

Hi guys i have been wanting a p380 a while and found somone selling one New in box. We are going to meet up for the exchange and thought id ask for some tips before i hand over 500 bucks.
To verify its new id think i could check the feed ramp for scratches? Other than the presence of residue what else can i look for that cant be from him possibly racking the slide a bunch of times?
Thanks

It will have been test fired so it will have some residue.
Look at the barrel hood for wear, check the inside of the grip for wear from the mag. Will probably just have to trust them.

I've noticed alot of nib stuff being sold lately

PS, check the follower in the mag. The mag should look new.

In addition to Toneys excellent advice, I would look at the slide rails on the frame, both the metal and plastic ones. Especially the plastic rails, if the gun has been run you can't hide wear there (casually ask if he racked the slide a lot, if not should be no wear). Bring a good small flashlight to look at the internals.............. Good luck !!!!

Ok guys here is the update. Upon meeting the seller and inspecting the weapon it appeares to be brand new no scratches and all plastic is perfect. It also turns out the seller was an officer as well. Which was nice and felt better about the purchase.
He said it was going to be a backup piece for his ankle but decided to get the pm9 instead. He said it was close because some of the officers carry a pm9, or p380 for backup were he works.
Anyways im very happy with my purchase, he also included 150 rounds of fmj and a desantis nemisis pocket holster. So now i just gotta break her in. :)
I now own 2 Kahr pistols a P9 and my new p380!

Well my girl convinced me we should shoot the ammo i had before i fly home tommorow and went to the closest range. I put 100 rounds of american fmj i believe 95gr or 97 not sure and went real smooth other than one or two FTE (was on the dry side needed lube).
The 6rnd mag is very tight fitting and when empty barly catches the slide when i pull it back. It locks fine on the 7rnd. However while shooting the slide did lock open after last round was fired.
After i went through my american eagle ammo i bought a box from the range of foccoci (however its spelled) and let me tell you the P380 hated this ammo.FTE,FTF , wierd lockups of the slide when feeding etc... it was like the gun said "hell no! I aint shootin this shit!"
All in all so far after racking the slide a bunch lastnight and how the first 100rnds went im pleased that with bettet ammo this will be shootin great.
Accuracy was good with decent grouping, with more practice it will be sweet.
Thinking about snagging an extra 6rnd mag and a sandpaper grip decal. Possible pierce grip extender. Any suggestions on accesories or custom work?

If it doesn't have night sights, check the kahr website, they sell meprolight front sights for like $31. Really only need one for the front, if you are interested. Also what may help the feeding and ejecting, other than good ammo is after you clean it, lube the gun on the heavy side. They don't tell you that in the manual, but until its fully broken in, it will help.
