I currently have a CM40 and CW380, which are both great guns, and have been considering the addition of a CM9, but the Hellcat & P365 have caught my attention due to the 10+ magazine capacity in a grip length similar to the CM9.

I know that Kahr has historically been a single stack gun, but I feel that a CM9 sized gun with the 1.5 stack design that the Hellcat & P365 are using would be a hot seller for Kahr.

Thoughts???

I too would like to see a compact double stack Kahr ........ I missed the boat a couple of years ago when I should have bought a Para Ordnance wart hog compact 45, with an 11 round capacity ...... it was a stainless model that was brand new and I passed on it ..... I still kick myself in the a$$ about it !!!

Though nice for range practice, the capacity of a single stack is, in almost all cases, more than sufficient for street self defense duty as a civilian...

Kirk, I'd really like to see Kahr produce a double stack .45. Or at the very least a K45. I cannot understand why they haven't done the latter. Don't know if they'll ever do either of them, but it's fun to think about isn't it?

you know I saw that too ...... I know Remington bought para out a while ago...... and are now located in Alabama, in their facility..... I just don’t think they are producing the para line of guns though....... I’ll have to look into it !

That site doesn't say much about availability. And no pictures of stainless models. Would be nice though and probably as close to a Kahr sized steel framed .45 that is available.

I have a Sig365 but my PM9 ends up in my pocket more often then I thought it would .....lighter than 365 and extra single stack mag weighs nothing..........

Hard to say. For quite a few years, Kahr dominated small single stack 9mm pistols. I bought a black diamond PM9, with night sights, in 2011. The PM9 was a big hit, a year or two later, the less expensive CM9 made a big splash. Kahr was doing very well, with these pocket pistols. However, in the last few years, or so some very good gun manufacturers, have upped the game. Sig Sauer P365, with a ten round capacity. Springfield Hellcat, eleven round capacity and still very compact. Kahr did bring out the PM9 Covert, with slightly more capacity, but not a game changer. I don't think Kahr can make a pistol small as a PM9 with a ten round capacity. Maybe in a K9 or P9 size. THAT I would like to see. To me, magazine capacity is overblown. The average gunfight is at three yards, in three seconds, with three rounds fired, so I will stick with my PM9, and carry a spare magazine. Sure, bigger capacity is better, but in my opinion, should not necessarily a game changer, at least for me. I hate to say it, because I love Kahrs, but I think they are losing a lot of sales, because they NEED to answer their competitors, if anything for Kahr customers, to keep as Kahr customers.

I’ll agree there about capacity not being the most important factor in a carry gun if you are..... #1 not going somewhere (dangerous) you really shouldn’t be...#2 if you have a reliable weapon loaded with high quality self defense ammo... and lastly if you are competent with the weapon you carry..... of course ymmv !

Hoping for Kahr to respond to double stacks is like hoping Glock will respond to the AR. It's just not going to happen. Different companies have their specialties, it's what they know, and it's what they stake their reputation on.

When the P365 came out, I thought it was interesting. The extra round count over another single stack 9mm I had was not compelling to me. I never figured on getting one. The same is true with the Hellcat. It's cool that more rounds are being packed into pistols that would have been 380 ACP in the old days. I did end up going with a P365 though. Not the regular one. No. I went with the SAS because it is nifty. I get that you hate it. Somehow that makes it even more satisfying 😎.

I gave up on Kahr doing anything new to improve or make their firearms more appealing to the firearm public. I went from a CM9 to a Glock 43x for my EDC. 10+1 mag capacity (Mags are more plentiful and cheaper also) I can do a complete disassemble of the 43x in a few minutes, have almost unlimited customized parts at my disposal, OEM parts for half the Kahr prices and in dozens of sites and reassemble the gun in less time than I can put the slide spring in the CM9. Have never encountered a problem that required a return to Glock....own and study a Glock for a day and you pretty much can solve any problem you get. As for a Hellcat, I have a XDe and like it very much. If I did not own it I might have looked into buying a Hellcat, but the extra mag capacity is not enough to convince me I need one. I have a CW380 that I re acquired when a friend died and he left it to me. Not a big Kahr 380acp fan after buying it, (is why I sold it to my friend) but it is a great shooter.... extremely accurate and good for a throw in the pocket to go to the store gun.

Just my opinion, but I thing the P365 and Hellcat are answers to Kahr pistols. While Kahr remains single stack and, in my view, more concealable and easier to carry, the others are trying to catch up.

I seriously hope they do make a doublish stack gun. I think kahr is a great carry gun but the a couple of more rounds a mag I don't think would affect overall size too much. The only thing to me kahr he as over stock triggers in other similarly purposely designed guns is the trigger.

What I like a lot about my PM9 is how slim it is. It really is about perfect for a pocket pistol. If you can hit what you're shooting at 7 rounds is plenty! I don't own just 1 firearm, if things look really serious, I'll take my 15 round Sig 229 40S&W. My PM9 is perfect for a drop it in your pocket just in case gun, don't change a thing!!!!!
