With some help from this board, I've nursed the P380 thru' some teething problems, but there is one that remains.
The pistol does not eject cases cleanly, sometimes with the spent casing returning to the e-port mouth down.
Also, the pistol does not eject cleanly if you charge it and top off the magazine before shooting.
Ammunition is carry Gold Dots or practice lead truncated cones.
It seems the slide is not moving briskly enough to insure ejection.
I think the extra round in the topped off mag is also contributing to slide drag as it pushes up harder on the bottom of the slide.
We are talking about a well broken in gun that has also been fluff n' buffed on the slide rails and the feed rail.
I have previously expressed the notion that the gun being rated for +P might be a little over-sprung for standard pressure loads.
Any ideas? Fixes?
Thnx,
Moon
ETA-the gun is more reliable when clean; as it dirties up, the ejection issue becomes worse.

I use Slide Glide LIGHT grease on frame/slide/barrel contact areas, plus a few drops of synthetic oil in the extractor area. Slide feeding and extraction is problem free with American Eagle, PMC, Hornaday CD, but I continue to have extraction issues with TULA ammo.

What is Tula? My friend at work had some ammo from Wal-mart that had dark gray casings. I think it came in an orange box. Same stuff?

TULA ammo is from Russia. Comes in weird colored box and is often sold at WM. TULA works OK in my 9mm handguns and in my 9x18 Makarov guns but exhibits FTE issues in my Ruger LCP and in my Kahr P-380.

I use only brass cased ammo, either factory Gold Dots or my own lead truncated cone reloads.
Both have been entirely reliable in an LCP and a Sig, tho' the Sig is notorious for kinking case mouths.
I hate to send the thing back to Kahr, but I'm not 100% convinced of its reliability for EDC.
The little Ruger isn't as nicely made, nor does it have the great sights and ergonomics. But it works, all the time.

What's the deal with the extractor? What makes them shoot the shells all over the place?

I bought 150 rounds of tula ammo from walmart and 20 of them did not fire. You could see where the primer was struck hard but still no fire. I will never buy any of that again. What its $1 cheaper, but if you factor in the rounds that don't fire its the same price. Save your money and spend the extra and save yourself a headache

Russian arms, like their AKs, are designed for steel-cased ammo from the get-go and are stone reliable with it. Other arms that were designed for brass cased ammo may not like the steel stuff. For the aggravation involved, I won't use the steelies, even if they are moneysavers.

And, in other news, the little bugger is going back, and I'm not terribly pleased to be paying shipping.
I suppose I could change out the extractor and spring, but it's time for somebody else to take a look at my problem child.
I'd like to hear that they have great customer service and that they fix things first time every time...
We shall see.

It's BAAAAAAAAAAACK.....
Out of my hands not much over a week.
They have replaced the extractor and recoil spring, and polished the feedramp. It may well be that they polished the chamber at the same time.
I'll take it to the range this evening and put a couple thru' it.
