First Range Report

Just got back from the range after putting 100 rounds of Magtech 95 gr FMC through the new P380. The gun performed flawlessly!!! No failures of any kind. It's amazingly accurate at the 21 ft distance I was shooting. I still consider myself an amateur at handguns and I was consistently getting my shots in about a 4" circle. Even though the gun is just slightly heavier than the LCP, it just feels like it's made a lot better. It feels solid. No offense to the LCP, but it feels like a toy and the P380 feels like a rugged tool. I think one of the nice things about it is the grip is relatively long. I have small hands and I can get 2 1/2 fingers on the grip. (Pearce grip would be very nice). I also put about 80 rounds through my PM9 while at the range and I was a little surprised to note that the PM9 kicks a great deal more than the P380. I didn't notice much of a kick at all on the 380. It was very similiar to my S&W MP9C.
I had thoroughly cleaned the 380 before going to the range and liberally oiled it. I followed Kahrs instructions to the letter about loading the first shell by using the slide release. I had more trouble with my PM9 today with mags falling out than the 380. I think I was hitting the release as I fired though.
Value is something that can be very subjective, but I have to honestly say that when I shot the LCP a few months back, I didn't feel like it was worth $330. Today after 100 rounds through the P380, I can honestly say it's worth the $557 I paid for it. At least to me. (Really only $537 because my gun shop gives you a free $20 range pass with a gun purchase.)
Stay tuned, I'm planning on getting back to the range next week for another session. I have a new Crimson Trace for my M&P that needs to be sighted in so I have to get that done. After 180 rounds today shooting relatively small guns, my poor old hands were just not steady enough to do any sighting in.

I'm anxious to hear what you think of it in comparison to the PM9. I had trouble with the PM 9 today. About every 3rd or 4th shot, the magazine would drop out. I think I might have been resting a finger on top of the release. Have you heard of anyone having this problem?
