I'm not dropping a magazine on anything but heavily padded shag carpet and I don't care how much I paid for the training class! LOL. Correct me if this is wrong, but someone on the internet said that during a gunfight you simply call "TIME" and everyone must stop for mag changes. I may have misunderstood.... :thumbsu:
I think during a gunfight or war, that moment of silence or peace if you will............is when everyone stops to reload...,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!

During training & / or qualification on a timed PPC course, I would either drop a mag on top of my shoe or quickly stick the empty mag in my waist behind my belt as I grabbed a charged mag nearby. If a civilian is forced into a deadly force situation & has to stop for a mag change, then a serious problem exists & probably won't survive to make the mag change....

My only 'formal' training was the military. It doesn't work well in civilian life, though, cause I haven't found a way to conceal a 5" gun turret, let alone the Mk37 gun fire control system. Going to need much larger pockets!!

I like where your going with this

Some malfunctions (auto loader) require that the mag be ripped out to clear the malfunction. Soooo, If your default reload is: Reload with retention, you will use the same process for clearing a malfunction and/or a normal reload. Using the same process for both will mean that you don't have to think about what you're doing, you will just do it.

Of course you must PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, until it is automatic, then practice some more.

My Kahr Pistols are nothing more than Cool Tools that I simply love. As long as they keep me fed, housed, clothed, safe, warm and protected I really don't give a damn if they aren't beautiful firearms and the shoes don't fit the suit. I will always take Mary Ann over Ginger any day. My Kahr Pistols have everything I need to fill my needs just they way they are. Now if Mary Ann goes from a C to a D, I will not complain. :>)

Damn, send me a sample of whatever it is you're taking! I need to live in that world. :nurse:

I had a person on another forum concerned about being able to grab the base plate to get a stuck mag out. So, I did a model that can be printed on a 3D printer for him. It is pictured below and is the width of the grip of a PM9:

I have also made a few that are the size of a small grip extension that allow an extra round in what was a 6 round magazine. It is much less length than the Kahr 7 round magazine.

Hey, Alfonse. Where can I find those? All I could fins was your "magazine sleeves" to fit the factory 7 and 8 rounder mags in CM9/PM9/MK9. But I could not find the exact product that you mention...

You will be able to find them on my website. My machine shop missed their ship dates and I am trying to find out when they will be delivered to me, so I can get them out to everyone. Right now, I don't know.

This is Al's website: https://lakelinellc.com

He sells on eBay also, and his extensions look very good on the gun.

I recently purchased some followers and extensions from him for my CM9. I hadn't shot my CM9 at that point and wanted his hardened aluminum followers to prevent any breakage to the factory followers that some of the CM9's seem to prone to doing. He makes good stuff, but in some of my older mags I was not able to get the extra round in when using one of his followers and extensions combined. He advised me to chamfer the inside edge of the follower a bit more aggessively or try a newer mag. I opted for the latter because I wanted some extra mags anyway, and that did the trick. Something different between the way in which the new and old spring windings are finished. His stuff is pricey but very well made.

I finally took my unfired CM9 to the range along with a new P380 that I purchased and the CM ran flawlessly. I even ran a mag equipped with a factory follower through it a couple of times since I now have extra followers following my purchase from him, and there was no breakage. Yet.
I had "prepped" my CM9 by racking the slide by hand close to 1000 times over the long wait before I got it out to the range so that may have helped with the break in at the range. My new P380 had two FTE and two FTF's in the first couple of mags and then ran flawlessly after that.

I should note that on the older mags I use in my PM9 and MK9 I had no issue in getting the extra round in when using one of his extensions, because I didn't install one of his followers on those mags. So in those 6rd mags I can now load 7rds with no issues.
