New to the forum but I have owned and carried a Kahr PM9 for years. Just recently got a PM40 because 9mm is so hard to get and my agency issues 40 for our duty gun so that is pretty easy to get. I also have a few Colt SAA revolvers and shoot trap with an old Browning Superposed over and under.

Hello Signal_20 and Welcome.
Agency and carry? Maybe over time you can enlighten some of us with your experience. Not necessarily probing just would be interested in suggestions maybe especially comments of your Kahr ownership. Hope so.

I have been a LEO firearms instructor and armorer for over 20 years and spent 10 years in the Marines before that so got a little experience with firearms. One thing I have learned over the years is that for the most part you get what you pay for so when people tell me Kahrs cost to much I ask them how much their life is worth. Kind of like riding a motorcycle, if you got a $20 dollar head then buy a $20 dollar helmet if that makes sense. We have a lot of officers buy Keltecs and Ruger LCPs that come to the range and they malfunction constantly or are very picky about what ammo they will digest. Last year at range qualification I had an officer come to the line with a brand new Keltec 380 and the first shot the slide came off the frame and fell to the ground. I have fired thousands of rounds of rounds through my Kahrs and tried every type of ammo you can think of without any issues. The Kahrs will shoot any kind of ammo you can put in the mag, mix and match, dirty gun, lead nose, hollow point, frangible, anything. Personally I think it is one of the best pistols made and I do trust it with my life every day. Sorry if I ramble too much but I truly believe in these guns and hope I never have to use one as long as I live but if I do need to I want to know it will work. Again sorry for the long rant.

It's ok Jim.....I get long winded myself at times. We like our Kahrs as well..........and I'll agree the wisest thing isn't to go as cheap as possible when your life is at stake..........

Jim, I LIKE to listen/read experienced hands long wrants. Your comments backed up by obvious experience is just what this reader wants to hear. Again a big welcome to you. Like you, I liked the Karhs right away. They were expensive compared to many others which made me wonder why. After some investigation I know why. You just helped confirm it.....again.
