Does anyone else have wear on the back of the barrel where the slide rubs over it? Also, when I look at the gun from the front, the hole where the barrel comes through the slide looks oval instead of round - and the barrel is not centered. I've only shot about 200 rounds through it. I dont see this on my SA XD40 or on my SAR 9mm Automotive lighting Bumper Office equipment Vehicle door Automotive exterior

Howdy!!! The hole is oval so the barrel can tilt, the shorter the barrel the more it has to tilt to clear the slide. And you have to tilt it enough to remove it from the slide.

The wear marks don't look to bad. The barrel offset I dont know, someone the owns a 380 will chime in.
I looked at my mk9 and the hole is slightly oval, I also looked at my bodyguard 380 and it is very much oval, just like your p380. So there you go, confirms what Toney said. As far as the back of the barrel on my MK there is some rounding on the leading edge of where the barrel squares off. I'm guessing this is normal break in wear............as the gun shoots and cycles perfectly..............
PS, does it hit where you point it?
The gun seems to shoot quite a bit low. To aim, I have to place the very bottom of the front sight even with the top of the back sight. I'm talking metal not dot.

I just checked my new CM9 and it also has the oval opening in the slide. I have not fired it yet. I am prepping it according to all the suggestions so it will be ready for the range!

I have not noticed anything on my barrel or slide but the polymer from the frame has taken a bit of a beating. Not sure if you can see it in the pictures but it seems like some of that polymer is being "shaved" off by the slide.

Does that appear to be normal or should I worry? (Sorry, not trying to hijack your thread)

The slide doesn't run on the plastic rails, there for guiding the slide on.
I'm very careful putting my slide on.
