Pocket Carry Of A P380 Vs PM9

I own both and enjoy them both. I find myself carrying the 380 while walking around the house, gardening, at night point at the fire pit, etc. I've alternated carrying each of them at work as my BUG in a left front pocket holster.

I just got back from the range today practicing with both drawing from that same pocket holster with quick shots. Try as I may, I'm just not as comfortable with the 380 versus the 9 and I think the majority of it is the size of the gun itself. I found myself hesitating while lining up the shot whether I'm using the nightsites or the CT laser. I don't want to get rid of either one, but I really don't need both.

I've tried several drills and practiced, but I just can't warm up to the 380 to the same comfort level as the 9.

I have the CW9 and CT 380. Never really carried the CW9 much, but have carried the CT380 quiet a bit. But recently got a Sig P365 (in 9 and 380)....and thats what I carry most of the time- mostly the 380 in the pocket. But if i go into town- its the 9mm.

Suggest for short range shots especially in rapid fire mode, only pick up the front sight on target acquisition which can be done quickly & accurately with practice & proper form ...personally I don't use night sights or lasers even in low lighting situations...the laser takes a lot of practice to not "chase the mouse"...

So I own both a Kahr P380 and a P9. The P9 is about a half inch longer in the barrel than the PM9 and a half inch longer in the frame. For me, the P380 is a true pocket carry as you can carry it in the right hip pocket of about 95% of denim jeans, and many other pants and shorts as well. That is, by far, the most convenient, the most concealable, the most accessible way to carry a concealed weapon. You can't carry a PM9 in your hip pocket because it is too big. As far as front pocket carry, I could carry my P9 in my front pocket, no problem. For that matter, I could carry my Glock 19 in my front pocket. But it is not the same thing. So while the P380 is a bit more challenging to shoot accurately, it is worth the effort since it is so easy to carry in your hip pocket and you are much more likely to have it if and when you need it.
