Problem with my P380...

3760 Views 3 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  wyntrout
AS soon I begin firing it... the pivot pin above the trigger begins to work itself out... (from the left side of the gun to the right side of the gun... looking top down - pointing it away from you.

Anyone else have this problem?

No, it's never happened to me. That's the direction it's supposed to come out - but it shouldn't come out unless you drive it out with a punch. You could send it back to the factory and stew about for a month, or just put some blue loctite on the fat end and drive it back in. Make sure the hole is free of oil or grease.

That's probably what they would do back in MA anyway. I doubt you would get a new frame out of the deal because then they'd have to deal with serial # issues, etc.

totally agree. at best kahr might take that trigger pin out and re install a new one. I would try to push the pin out a tad more, put some lock tite or IMO betteryet some crazy glue on that CLEAN pin and drive it back flush. the crazy glue will certainly hold, where as not to sure locktite will cure with plastic and steel combined. I can say that locktite does not recommend their product on plastic so u decide.

Last resort would be to send it back but I think you can fix it in house..
Is there a retainer pin for the trigger pin? If not, that's the problem. Kahr should send you a retainer pin and or new trigger pin, which should solve your problem, which would be the best solution. If there is one, it may not be in the groove on the trigger pin. You could talk to Kahr CS and see what they advise. Lastly, I would super glue it.
Kahr has been quick with turnarounds... none longer than a week for me. P380x2 and PM45x3. Last PM45 trip was to replace a replacement DLC slide with a very faint rolled or struck engraving.

Loctite recommends NOT using Loctite on plastic... removal could break your frame. The red requires about 500° F to break a bond and the Green and Blue require chemicals that may damage plastic. This is assuming you got a GOOD bond and removal is necessary.
See my post about Loctite on Kahrtalk:
