For those of you that are of a " Mature " age as I am, remember when;
You were able to bring a pocket knife to school, and no one thought anything of it !
If you got out of line at school, you got paddled !
The high school had a senior court or area where only seniors could go, and you could smoke your cigarettes there !
You could smoke in a movie theatre !
You could smoke just about anywhere, planes, malls, restaurants, waiting rooms !
Entertainers on tv, J. Gleason, D. Martin, F. Sinatra....etc, always had an alcoholic drink in one hand & a cigarette in the other !
Actor Sam Elliot was the Marlboro Man !
Actors in the movies & tv, men always wore suits and ties, and ladies a dress and pearl necklaces, even if they were just hanging out at the house doing nothing in particular !
Younger boys had BB guns or 22's and it was no big deal !
What has the world come to.........any thoughts...............are we better off now then before.........comments anyone.......?????

I remember swapping pocket knifes. Running around town with a gang of kids all packing bb and pellet guns.

Remember a kid bringing a bazooka for show and tell and playing war with it on the playground.

Remember back window gun racks, no problem in the highschool parking lot.

Think we had to be a block away from the school to smoke, I dipped snuff everywhere

Yes..., yes... I can remember going with my dad to the gas station, and it was 10 cents a gallon. Or going to the grocery store to buy cigarettes for my mom.........and myself at 20 cents a pack. Remember things like that as a kid, and it was normal everyday stuff.
