Ah, thank you for the pictures...sorry if I made you clean your gun! View attachment 1081 Here is mine taken with an actual camera. That 'blob' doesn't belong there. Assuming it has been there all along, every time the gun was fired the striker would hit unevenly causing a torque on the assembly....perhaps causing the fracture. Looks like I'm putting it all back together and sending to Kahr.

Thanks again for your suggestions and help!
Being a Liaison type guy I'm wondering how and what this "blob" is. The hole is machined so at one time that blob was not there. So what is it and how did it become stuck to the metal? Could it be knocked loose?

I thought it wouldn't hurt ANY gun that had a striker firing pin.

I would call and tell Jay the same thing, especially with two having this problem AND NEW TO BOOT.

topgun, I think you did it the right way for exactly the same reasons. In fact I did the same thing with my new 380 this being the 3rd week since I've sent it.

I'm not in any hurry as long as when I get it back it works. I did email Jay and ask what ammo they will use and said to call him when I get the gun.
Really, I just want it to work and if it takes more time so be it.

If that should happen I'm going to be very disappointed in Kahr. But we aren't there and I'm looking forward.

I'm getting ready. Finally found 380 rds at Walmart. They had 3 boxes at 23 bucks a piece. I haven't seen 380's since before I bought mine 2 months ago.Went to Cabela's and lo and behold they had a bunch of 9mm in different brand names.

Yeah that's good..........when S&W sent mine back after they serviced it, I just happened to buy a box of mag tech from the smith that handled the gun for me. I took it to the range and ran the box thru it without issues, also a box of hornady cd, which is what I carry in it. And that was it..........I went back the next day and bought a couple more, since he had some in stock. Every once in a while I'll shoot a couple of mags thru it, clean it and I'm good.
With out knowing how many rds you run do you consider it broken in?

My CW380 didn't like the Winchester white box from Wally world. I found PMC Blazer at Cabela's online for 19.99 a box and free shipping a couple weeks ago...got 10 boxes...couldn't go wrong with FMJ round nose. BTW: Ran 150 rounds through my repaired P380 today without a hiccup....good to go...always debating which to carry...my CW380 or the P380...its the CW for now. Guess I'll trade one some day for a small 9mm to carry IWB.
I hope I don't have the Winchester problem as I have several boxes. Checked Cabela's and didn't find any fmj 380's...darn.
Why did you pick the CW over the P?
