Had a pop up yesterday saying tapatalk is now free. Had heard that on the local forum to.

It still says 2.99....

Tapatalk has a free version for both iphone and android........and it's very decent........I have it on my ipad and my android galaxy phone. I did upgrade as there are more options and moderating is easier I think........But then I use the standard web page mostly on my ipad as I can readily see who's online and all the new posts on the same page. On my phone it's easier to use Tapatalk.

I pretty much ONLY use Tapatalk and mine was free. They probably only advertise the one to purchase.
