Had a pretty day here for a change. Got a bad update on my puter today- something went wrong and I decided to install a new OS. Gosh that's a hassle.... but thank God I'm not running windoz. I would be completely lost.... finally got enough back to normal here so i can get on line.
Things finally dried out enough here to cut grass-all the neighbors were out working in their yards today. #1 son cut ours, well i did move the cars.
Morning- no rain again! That's good. Trying to get used to this new OS- Linux Mint Cinnamon- it's working but different.
Agatha went back to the office today to turn in her keys and some other equipment. She said for the first time she does not dread going in......cause she ain't working.
Oh well- be cautious of crowds....new strand of corona out there.
Morning...50's & breezy with temp supposed to get into the mid 60's...may be able to get in a gar session & try to recover from some soreness from playing at game speed in our first league games last night...
Good afternoon..... been busy with plenty of work and family issues..... no time for myself these days ...... just keeping the keep on.... 44 here with a winter storm projected for tonight... they say snow ️
Afternoon.....been busy with Agatha's "she shed". The thing finally came, we got it set in place a during the rain...and it rained and stormed all night. Still have water in the ditches and low spots....the garden was submerged. Don't know if any of it will survive?
I heard more thunder and saw more lightening last night than ever, Power went out around 8 am, didn't come back on til around noon.
Last few days I have had to reinstall my os on my pouter 2 times. Some kinda wierd crap with an update. Might have something to do with the fact that this is an '09 computer. Been kinda looking around- new laptops are expensive. #2 son reminds me that used desktops are plentiful and cheap. I might go that rout? I don't necessarily need a laptop- I don't ever move it- it just sits on the desk anyway.
Morning.....more rain last night and more due later today, still have water standing in low places. The ground is saturated. Already hearing on the news of the damage to crops- I think our garden is finished. We need some dry weather, and the weatherman says 2-3 more days of rain. Not looking good.
Morning.....sun's out! and it is not raining! Still have standing water in all the low spots. Weatherman says 50% chance today, but i don't see anything. Maybe we can dry out now. I live in a big farming area and the farmers are saying the fields are too wet to do anything, and all that's already planted is drowned. This is the most rain i remember. Glad i live on a hill.
No rain yet, but still water standing in all the low spots- not going to clear til that sun bakes it off and dries the soil out.
Weatherman says we can expect 5 days of sunshine!- thank the Lord, we need it.
Morning......no water out front, still some in the back in the low spots- looks like we are finally drying out. I have a better understanding of the term "saturated" now. I live on top of Murray Hill, and my back yard, and my neighbor's on either side me and three behind me all form a little bowl on the tip top of the hill. It will hold water after a big rain, and usually dries up in a day. What can run off does right away, and the rest has to either soak in or evaporate. Well after several days of rain- it couldn't soak any more. What a mess. Thankfully we've had two days of sunshine and more to come....oh, and the grass needs cutting back there.
Anyway- looks like we are well on the way to drying out now. The tomatoes and potatoes still look good, but the rest of the garden may have drowned.
Okay- it's a pretty day......I'm gonna enjoy it....we are going to the casino. Wish me luck!
Morning...it's warmed up into the low 60's with another 10 to go which will make it more enjoyable for my ballgame late tonight...still trying to dry out more here with additional rain forecasted with even snow mentioned. Though cool yesterday afternoon, I did get in a gar session with an Oliva Serie V Churchill which lasted for a very enjoyable 3 hours-20 minutes...
