Afternoon......well we hit 102 today. Yep - it was hot. My 17 year old a/c struggled for a while. We got up to 81.5 inside with thermo set to 77. I got kinda nervous there for a while. I was surprised it did not trip out. But we pulled through.
Priced an a/c last year and got a range of $8-10k. Ooouch! Shoot might have to stick a couple window units in til i could hit the lotto!
Actually I do feel sorry for those who have to get out there in the heat and work their tails off. I used to do it...
Stay cool and hydrated fellows.....and be careful not to over-hydrate on Pabst Blue Ribbon or something stronger

Morning...80 but supposed to be a little cooler at around 90 today before the heat ramps back up...too much Sahara Dust so didn't get that gar session in...going to my son's for Father's Day...later...

Morning....weatherman says only 99 today! Thats good- and we have a 50% chance for rain this afternoon- so I'm sure the clouds may give some relief.
Something I read today on another forum- on the days where you expect excess heat- set your thermostat to 20 degrees below the expected high. Of course that will raise the temp inside but the idea is that it takes some of the stress off your system when it is the hottest-when it needs it the most. Don't know if that is valid or not? But I will give is a try- because my system is 17 years old and the replacement cost estimates last year were $8-10k! There has to be a better $olution!

Agatha and her sister went to get some lotto tickets yesterday.They stopped by the Indian casino (Wind Creek) yesterday and got lucky. Agatha came out with $225 and her sister hit near $600! The irony is her sister was laid-off Friday. The company she works for is doing a re-model and updating all their equipment- will be down for 2-3 months. Anyway- they both came home happy :)

Morning......weather man says 2 more days of the 94/95 temps....then about 4 days of triple digits again o_O
Man, that heat has been rough this summer. But thank God my ac has survived so far.
Got #2 granddaughter last night. Agatha wants to go out to Academy to look at an inflatable pool? Will have 3 grand-kids this weekend. A pool may help.
Getting a few thing out of the garden daily...waiting on the watermelons!
Oh well.....with the summer heat we usually get tension and unrest in the cities- seems to be more violent now.
Watch your step folks..........

Morning...I did get in a gar session last night with an Oliva Serie V Melanio Figurado after getting back home from my son's house...resting up for softball practice later today - actual temp should only be in the mid 90's so not bad...don't really care about heat indexes...know how to work & play in it...

Morning...gotta go vote. Run-offs today. Then to pick one of the grand daughters . This has been our busiest summer ever- especially with respect to family. Had the youngest grandchild yesterday, will have the middle one today through Friday, then the oldest comes in. The two older ones are a breeze...the younger one is a task.
Anyway- looks like the heat ramps up tomorrow. Possible 3-4 days of triple digits.

Morning...yep, the heat's on with actual temps near or exceeding triple digits so plan to cool off watching Top Gun Mav this afternoon...my old subwoofer died so arranged a slight discount from RSL on an open box return for a 10s MKII & an older model wireless transmitter - all of their subs are sold out...no other plans except to find another gar deal since my son gave me an online gift certificate for Father's Day...

Good early morning…… looks like rain today…… temp is 56, weird as a couple of weeks ago it was mid to upper 80s and even 90 for a few days ? Which is fine by me I’ll take the cold weather over the heat any day. Work in a couple of hours. Find that gar deal bill …… you might want to check out cigar bid ? they do have some really good deals there. Nothing else happening here ….

Morning.......may get lucky with the temp today- 103 was the prediction yesterday, but today both my weather apps are saying 97 and 98 for the high. I'll take that any day! Once that actual temp gets up there around 100- then every degree more seems like 10! Hope it cools down soon- and July and August ain;t here yet.
Anyway- ran out to Academy this morning- looking for 380 ammo. Nothing but Remington and Monarch and some jhp. I passed. Always had good luck with Remington in the past- but this past year had lots of misfeeds with both old and new Remington. I'm not out, but don't like to get too low. I'll eventually find something.

Morning...Top Gun: Mav - what a great movie...a good job referencing the original movie & tying scenes & relationships together!
Anyway...typical heat advisory...got to make a shopping run this afternoon & maybe find some thick bone-in chops to grill...my subwoofer & wireless transmitter has shipped - can't wait to get my system running properly again.

Ron, I haven't checked CigarBid in a long time since my inventory is sufficient to wait out as good or better deals including with coupons / promo codes & usually with free shipping...some aren't available for auction like the limited release of the Oliva MB3 maduro...my son's GC is through FS...thanks though for the suggestion...

Morning.....looks like they are saying 100 now for today- that's better, and upper 90's rest of week. We definitely did experience a 'heat wave' but thank goodness it wasn't as bad as predicted. Will go out and pick up #2 g/k shortly. Never a problem.
Top Gun?.....yeah we went to see that- actually the sons watched it and suggested we see it. I didn't really want to go- but glad I did. It was pretty good. I was tired when I got out.....:LOL:......guess i was trying too hard to steer that plane from my seat.

Morning.....up late...working on my coffee. We did hit 102 yesterday and may hit it again today. The high Sunday is supposed to be 85! That will be a welcome day.
Agatha is going out with her niece today to help pick a wedding dress. I ain't going. I'll find something to here at home-like sit under the fan and drink iced tea.

Morning...yep on that triple digit heat...cooled off to 96 last night by the time I got my gar session in...needed it after several hours of yardwork & mowing...not much today - got the HVAC company coming out for routine service...letting them clean the cottonwood generated from next door off the compressor coil...

Morning....looks like cooler weather now for a week maybe? Some days projected to have highs in the low 80's. Thats good. Nothing happening around here- no grand-kids today or tomorrow. May try to talk Agatha into going to the casino- I feel the urge to throw some money away. (that''s why I never have anything-I try to have too much fun).
Peas and beans have not done well- tomatoes. Okra and squash doing good.
