Stop your confuseing worries:

Here is what is swaged by lees bb kit or reddings GR-X swage kit.

Below red line is what were doing, above the red line, the so called glock brass swell is done with sizing die even though this die pushes some of swell out too.

I haven't had any problem with bulges. I haven't loaded many 380 but I do know some blowback actions can shred brass.

Above is not needed with 380, just 9mm and above. And its not about buldges, its about pancaked head base rim dwn @ primer area. Just last bottom 1/4 inch is what these tools are made for. Takes 2 arms to push some of nines thru above dies in a rock-crusher rcbs.

I've never worried about my 9s, if the case looks slightly off I toss it in the recycle bucket.
I have worried more about the unsupported chambers in the 40 and the bulges it causes. To the bucket...

Nines create problems in those micro pistols ive had. I do the 40's and 45's this way also. Hell, been off work 2 days cause of snow.
