whats your varmit rifle?

Mine is a Stevens 22-250. Shot into a half inch right out of the box!!! The trigger needs replaced, ive swapped the spring out with with one made from the wire from a buzz bait.

Would like a 700 but I only gave 280 for the Stevens.

I have two Remington nylon 22's that are remarkably accurate, one with scope and one open sights. Just sort of happened to end up with them, but fun to shoot. Otherwise it's gonna be a 7mm magnum, which shoots flat and can reach out quite a ways.
I've got a old rem 511 scoremaster 22 I gave 20 bucks for that I wouldn't take anything for!!!

Ive shot most of my coyotes with a 270 but I really like shooting the 22-250.

I bought a 7mm mag just to see how hard they kick, same with the 300. If there was anything bigger than whitetails here I would heave a mag.
I like a very flat shooting rifle, that's why I favor the 7mm.
I think if my 7mm would have been a better rifle I might have got more into it.. both my mag were 710s I swapped relics for.

To me the extra 15-20 Gran's of power and the couple inches just isn't enough gain over my 270.
If I needed heaver bullets think id go with the 300.. most of the deer around here will only be 100lbs or so.

About half the deer ive taken has been with the old 7mm Mauser.

a hundred yard group out of my Stevens 22-250. Shooting setting in a folding chair off my knee, at a target I put on a sapling so I could see it above the grass, and the wind was blowing.

Was shooting a.hornady 55gr sp, loaded to 3600fps

Thats some good shooting there man.......
I want a .17hmr someday, but for now I'll have to settle for my .223 Browning A-Bolt.
The hmr is neat, but if a mouse farts between you and your target your gonna miss...

100yd hits on a water bottle with the 17 is just as impressive as one hit with a. 223
Love my Savage 17...stainless bull nose with scope. Wicked round on impact. decimates small critters. The accu-trigger is awesome. Wish the mags were a bit bigger tho...Coyote killin mocheene

I got a friend with a nylon Remington as you described. I have two Ruger 10-22's that shoot like a dream. At the time I had an Ithaca 22. We hunted squirrels and that Remington NEVER missed with either of us shooting it. I really didn't like the plastic look but an excellent shooter.
Browning 22 cal auto from the 60's. Great rifle!!!
