Good stuff there bob!
My goal is less of me, in all aspects of my life. Our American lifestyle encourages the "me" syndrome in our hectic culture. We tend to place self first. I see this daily and in ALL ages, not just the new generation. How rude are people these days? Why? Because it's all about "me". Twitter, Facebook, is all about whats happening in my life (emphasis on MY). Watch TV and see that all commercials tell you how much better your life would be with their product and you deserve it.
I think if we, as Americans, heck, as humans, placed more emphasis on others and less of self, what a great society, world, we'd have. Social media promulgates that style of thought daily, almost by the minute. Next time your at a restaurant or fast food dive listen to what people say when the waiter/cashier says "may I help you". usually the replies is "yea, I want" or "give me"....."I" "me" "my".
Anyway, I'm the kind of guy that still holds doors open for ladies, opens the car door for my wife and says "thank you" when treated courteously by others. . Call it what you want, but usually I get a "thank you" or a smile...usually.IMVHO:smile:
